Tiegerman Preschool at Far Rockaway's UPK Program:
A Supportive, Inclusive Start for Your Child
- School Hours: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Larger class size with up to 20 students
- Strong educator support: 1 NYS-certified early childhood education teacher, 1 NYS-certified special education teacher, and 2 teaching assistants (20:2:2 classroom ratio)
- Instruction based on the NYS Prekindergarten Learning Standards and the Creative Curriculum
- Thematic learning units aligned with the NYS Prekindergarten Learning Standards
- Technology-enhanced learning with access to Promethean boards, to reinforce reading, math, and language skills
- Interactive lessons incorporating thematic learning, motor skills, and social-emotional development
- Family engagement programs, including volunteer opportunities and PTFA participation
- Recognizing the needs of the Far Rockaway community, our UPK program provides Kosher meals and an alternative calendar accommodating Jewish holidays.
- Summer Enrichment Program Option - for those parents interested, we offer additional support designed to help children transition smoothly into kindergarten. These programs reinforce key skills in a fun, structured environment, ensuring children feel confident and prepared for their next big step.
