Tiegerman Preschool at Far Rockaway Hosted Playground Ribbon Cutting with Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato

Tiegerman Preschool at Far Rockaway proudly celebrated the opening of its newly renovated playground with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The event featured honored guest Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, whose support was instrumental in bringing the project to life.

The new playground represents a significant investment in the well-being and development of Tiegerman students. The $330,000 renovation was made possible through $250,000 in funding from Assemblywoman Amato’s office and additional support from a SEDCAR grant, an annual grant secured by Tiegerman’s Business Office through the NYC Preschool Special Education Office.

During the ceremony, Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato was presented with a commemorative certificate from Tiegerman’s 40th Anniversary Gala in recognition of her steadfast support for special education and the Far Rockaway community.

“We are deeply grateful to Assemblywoman Amato and our partners for making this dream a reality,” said Dr. Jeremy Tiegerman, COO of Tiegerman. “This new playground will provide a safe, joyful, and inclusive space where our students can thrive and grow. It is another step forward in fulfilling our mission of Teaching the Extraordinary.”

“I am honored to support Tiegerman’s incredible work and help create spaces where all children can learn, play, and succeed,” said Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato. “This playground is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for our community while showcasing the importance of kids playing outdoors.”

The new playground is part of Tiegerman’s ongoing commitment to providing extraordinary educational and developmental experiences for children with special needs.
