About Mrs. Annese
Welcome to my page! Known by my students as Mrs. Annese (or Miss Suzy), I am a proud alumni of New York Institute of Technology's Occupational therapy program, and enjoy serving my community from ages 0 to 99! I love what I do and have experience in early intervention, pre-school, school age, adult rehabilitation and equine assisted therapy/therapeutic horseback riding. Recently, I have acquired my certification as an Autism Specialist (CAS) through IBCCES in 2019 to grow as a clinician and continue to be up to date in the ever-changing field of occupational therapy. I am honored to serve the Tiegerman community, working hard to improve the independence of each student within the Tiegerman program through relevant, evidence based practice and ensuring the use of client-centered therapy for each of my wonderful students.

WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
According to the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Occupational therapy involves helping people of all ages and abilities to do things they want and need to do through therapeutic use of daily activities, also known as occupations. Occupational therapy enables people across the lifespan to live their life to the fullest, promoting health, preventing injury, and assisting to improve the lives of those living with illness, injury or disability.
Many different settings have the support of occupational therapists including hospitals, nursing homes, community programs, schools, outpatient clinics, and assistive technology. In the pediatric setting, OTs assist children (ages 0-21) to be more independent in their daily lives including, but not limited to, writing, school tasks, dressing, hygiene, coordination, and strength.
On my page,  I have included activities for all! See the right hand side of this page for all activities specific to this population.
