Tiegerman Schools has created a unique vocational training program that prepares students with developmental disabilities for the world of work. By partnering with PVH retail brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, the High School has developed two retail stores within the school so students are provided with the skill set to work in retail upon graduation. The stores are managed by students and provide direct learning and training on front-end and back-end operations in a typical retail setting that prepares students so they are ‘work-ready’. The program also entails internships in the retail stores at Tanger Outlets in Deer Park, evolving into a comprehensive vocational program. While many of our graduates go on to college or trade school, others pursue a career in retail. We are the first such program in the PVH family of services, helping establish the vision and philanthropy of PVH as a worldwide business. We are now expanding this program in Tiegerman’s Middle School in Glen Cove.
Executive Team members from Calvin Klein visited Tiegerman High School to present a check for more than $58,000 that was raised from PVH’s 2022 Holiday Register Campaign at Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger Outlet locations throughout the United States and Canada.
