Description
Daycare program looking for experienced teacher to join our staff! It is the responsibility of the classroom teacher to provide instruction aligned with state learning standards, and establish curriculum that meets the needs of each individual student, to establish a nurturing and supportive learning environment, to monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior, and to work collaboratively with parents and other members of the school staff. This is an inclusion classroom, this position would be the gen. ed. teacher for the classroom. Working with children ages 2.9 to 4 years of age. Hours for the position are 7:30AM-3:30PM
Must hold valid NYS Certification: Early Childhood Education Birth-Grade 2
Responsibilities:
• Supervise students in the classroom and all other areas of the school building
• Organize curriculum and instruction around developmentally appropriate thematic units
• Adapt instruction and materials to meet the individual needs, strengths and interests of all students
• Write and submit lesson plans, in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
• Manage student behavior in the classroom according to the established classroom management practices
• Maintain the confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with FERPA and school policies
• Report incidents (i.e., accidents, unsafe conditions, suspected abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining the health and welfare of students and the safety of the school environment in accordance with the NYS Office of Children & Family Services regulations and school policies
• Complete 30 training hours in accordance with the NYS Office of Children & Family Services.
• Obtain Medication Administration Training (MAT) and First Aid/CPR Certification. Must renew certifications prior to expiration date.
• In the event the Director is not in the building, the classroom teacher in the Acting Director.
