At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Tiegerman Woodside (Queens) is looking for a Full Time Occupational Therapist to join our team!

Responsibilities

· Maintain and review student records

· Evaluate student progress and prepare reports that display their progress

· Assess students’ physical abilities

· Plan, organize and conduct OT sessions with students

· Meet with parents and teachers to communicate information pertaining to the students’ IEP

· Choose activities that assist students in learning life-management skills within limits of their abilities

· Recommend changes in environment that could assist students with their needs and capabilities

· Help students to improve their fine motor and visual motor skills

· Make recommendations and referrals as needed

· Maintain professional training by attending workshops

· Research resources and treatment methods for the students

· Design and create adaptive equipment for students

· All other duties as assigned
